In this historical fantasy short story, in an ancient and humid land, Cassion is a faithful servant of his Lord, the King. Having delegated patrol of the royal palace, he retires to his villa, but when one of the Kings sons brings tidings that his Lord has betrayed him, it shakes the foundations of his home. If he does not act, he will lose everything, but if he does, he risks the fate of the entire realm.
