Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore was a great poet, dramatist and story-teller of his period. Gitanjali was his work which was appreciated universally and was awarded Nobel Prize in 1913 for Literature. Being a philosopher, he was also a social, religious and political thinker. He was considered as the stepping stone of Modern Indian Literature.
