As a wave of unnatural heart attacks strikes victims across San Francisco, a bomber who was captured by Detective Lindsay Boxer and her estranged husband goes on trial. With his defence casting doubt on her investigation and putting her career on the line, Lindsay is left unable to know who she can trust and must clear her name while apprehending a serial killer.
