About the Author

Alex Rutherford is the pen name of British authors Diana Preston and Michael Preston, a married writing team who blend rigorous historical research with dramatic narrative to bring past eras to life. The duo chose the pseudonym Alex Rutherford (in part inspired by Nobel laureate Ernest Rutherford) to distinguish their historical fiction from their earlier non-fiction work.
